Hymenoplasty is commonly known as hymen repair surgery. It is a surgical procedure at restoring a ruptured hymen. It is usually done by connecting the two free ends of the ruptured hymen and stitching them together with the help of dissolvable stitch. This can be done by removing a thin layer of tissue from the vaginal wall and placing it over the torn hymen.

Simple Suturing:- In this technique, the existing hymenal tissue is sutured together to restore its appearance and integrity.
Flap Technique:- This procedure involves creating a flap of vaginal tissue to reconstruct the hymen. The flap is then sutured to recreate the uterine structure.
Alloplant Technique:- This technique uses synthetic or biological materials called alloplants to create a new ovary. These materials provide a surgically implanted and reconstructed hymen.
Combination Technique:- This approach combines elements of both suture and flap techniques to reconstruct the hymen using a combination of pre-existing tissue and extra vaginal tissue.

- Pre- Surgery:- Two weeks before you should avoid taking anti inflammatory drugs or anti coagulants. The surgery is performed under a local anaesthetic. The surgeon stitches the remnants of the ruptured hymen and the stitches will dissolve on their own.
During Surgery:- All the surgical repairs mentioned above. They are performed by a plastic surgeon. The surgical procedure is short, lasting about half an hour.
Post Surgery:- After the surgery the hymen heals after 15-20 days once the stitches dissolve. After a couple of months the scar will disappear. Scars are hidden in the folds of the hymen. The patient should not work for at least 2 days after surgery.
